Mercedes R. Bermejo
My name is Mercedes I was born in Madrid. I have been practicing yoga for more than 20 yrs and since 2006 I have been dedicated to bring the Joy of Yoga to my students. I am also a professional singer, performer with a M.A. degree in art history, and music. Yoga has been transformative force in my live. Some of my beloved teachers are Shiva Rea (Prana Flow), Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa (Kundalini), Sadie Nardini (Core Strength), Lakshmi Voelker (Therapeutical and Chair Yoga), Dharma Mittra (Traditional Hatha), John Friend (Anusara), & Rodney Yee.
My yoga style is the fusion of all these teachers styles with my love for sound healing and the ultimate inspiration of the rhythms of nature; the flow of life. To me, being a yogini is being a seeker, constantly learning and discovering our own nature by living in connection to all beings.

Like many students, I started Yoga after a back injury because of its physical benefits but as I practiced over the years I realized that yoga was healing my physical and also my mental wounds. Yoga offered me a get-way to happiness every time I stepped on my mat. It made me fully present every moment and by experiencing the moment, I came to understand what real health & happiness means.
Health is not only to be in good shape, drink lots of water and look good, and Happiness is not a goal in the far future. Both are here and now, and both are choices. The choice to practice being in your body, fully aware, fully alive, in harmony with all.
I founded InSpiral in 2006 for people to experience the wonderful physical and mental wellness that yoga gives us, in a safe and open manner. We focus on mindful movement, meditation & music. With this approach I have taught international and national corporate, private programs as well as teacher qualification trainings, in English and Spanish. Companies like Living Social Adventures, Weight Watchers, or ProMujer have entrusted me with their wellness programs.
Traveling is another of my passions and I was blessed to practice yoga in India, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia and most of Latin America. Thanks to all my students and teachers for always support, me through the path and especially to Shiva Rea, for her constant inspiration.
